OpinionWelcome to my blog!

I’ve created this space so that I can offer you my thoughts and opinions, both personal and professional, about any number of topics, including books, movies, and other forms of media that bring to light issues that many of us face, and sometimes struggle with – like how to create and maintain healthy relationships, how to determine the appropriate role in our children’s lives as they begin to grow and separate from us, and how do we handle the fears that, more often than not, accompany our mid-life experience – and the subsequent transitions associated with many of them.

I’d also like to share with you some of the things that I’ve learned about life from my work.  I believe, for example, that the therapeutic process should always be collaborative between the therapist and the client(s).  It almost always produces amazing forms of creativity that, in the absence of this ‘team work’, just might not happen.  As a result, I’ve learned a tremendous amount about the human condition from my clients, and the incredible courage it sometimes takes to “feel the fear and do it anyway”, to quote the title of a wonderful and inspiring book written by Susan Jeffers, PhD.  For many people, sometimes just putting one foot in front of the other each day requires a certain degree of courage, creativity, hope, and a belief in oneself – even if that just means ‘acting as if’ one believes in themselves.

These are just some examples of the topics I hope to blog about.  So I welcome you, and hope that my postings, more often than not, prove to be thought-provoking, helpful, or simply entertaining.

So stay tuned…
